Most glass railing suppliers use 304 or 316 stainless steel. We don't — and it's the single biggest technical difference between systems that look identical in photos.

What is a frameless glass railing?
A guardrail made of structural tempered glass panels held by base-mounted hardware (spigots), with no posts or frames between panels. The glass itself is the structure — which is why panel thickness and hardware grade matter more than anything else in the system.
How are frameless glass panels supported?
Each panel sits in two spigots — stainless steel base mounts anchored to concrete, pavers or reinforced framing. The spigots clamp the 12mm glass and are engineered around guard-load requirements: a 200 lb concentrated load and 50 lb per linear foot.
What's the difference between 2205 and 316 stainless steel?
Corrosion resistance and strength. 2205 duplex has a PREN of 35 versus about 24 for 316 — roughly 46% more pitting resistance — and about twice the yield strength. Around pools and coastal air, that's the difference between hardware that lasts 5 years and hardware that lasts 20+.
